Like all new technologies, AI is here to stay. Like all new technologies, it will influence older technologies. It remains to be seen whether AI will be "the new death of photography". We all know that for non-journalistic entities, social media is a paradise for images that pretend to be one thing but are actually another thing. So is there a danger of AI distorting photojournalism? How much can we still trust images? But can AI perhaps also be creative? Does it, like photojournalism, possess the curiosity and an intrinsic motivation to visually capture the world?
